Monkey’s been jamming out to a ton of new music. Cool African beats, some Raggae, bluesy stuff you might hear live. Also, it seems like he’s always reading something new. We told him. “Hey, Monkey, stop spending all of your precious coin on media.”

He let out a high pitched screech that wasn’t human. Well, of course it wasn’t human, but I don’t think it was monkey either. It was ”other-worldly”. Anyway, he turns on on to Amazon. Goes into the MP3 store there and sets the price range from 0.00 to 0.01. Yep- free up to a penny. And guess what, he downloads like 50 albums for free.

Then onto the kindle store where he sorts the price from lowest to highest. Tons of free books.

So there you go - Monkey see, we do.

Some background. Monkey’s been in Lancaster or Workshire or Fiji for 7 months.

Very little word. Only a few vague emails (posted here) and the occasional gift by mail.

He’s been contracting. This crazy story about how “Last Week” he was doing anything 3:30 and then next week he’s inventing shit.

So he’s basically “On the Beach” for a bit. Kyle asks/accosts him:

“Why don’t you get off of the couch?”

He replies. And I swear. Monkey spoke. Monkey replies:

“I am curing AIDS.”

Monkey is on his third Kindle. The first one “pissed him off” when it would not remember his bookmarks. Not the Kindle’s fault btw. Monkey simply has a an atrocious memory.

He “accidentally” threw his second Kindle out the window when he mistook it as a dysfunctional Etch-a-Sketch.

Monkey had to buy his third Kindle with the remaining balance on his gift card plus a few donations from his already cash weary flatmates. Oh well. Nothing left to buy new books with.

No worries, Monkey found a solution with Project Gutenberg. Thousands of free eBooks all out of copyright and transcribed by hand by a team of ambitious volunteers. Yay, Gutenberg!

@WikiPedia If you have not already been there you should. If you haven’t already posted to it, you should probably not. Monkey came back from London with all sorts of crazy stories. First of all, why London and not Atlanta? Last we heard he was hanging around Stone Mountain with a candle and a prayer trying to relight the Olympic torch.
